• The program also monitors emerging trends in education, such as massive open online courses (MOOCs); digital credentials; competency-based learning; and hands-on, maker-based experiences.

Cisco Networking Academy Launches Free IT Education to Empower All People with Career Possibilities

We have made improvements to our simulation software, Packet Tracer, by removing its dependence on Java and supporting Mac users directly. And we’ve brought the “gaming” experience into the student experience to keep students better engaged. We continue cisco networking academy builds it skills and education for future careers to innovate to keep our skill-to-jobs curriculum relevant as industry needs evolve and learning technology enables new ways to facilitate effective learning.

• Together with Cisco, Experis will offer learning paths toward careers where there is demand for skilled workers.
• It is a free, online event available to both Networking Academy and non-Networking Academy students that brings together top tier technology companies with skilled talent from across the United States and Canada.
• Together with our community of partners and academies, Networking Academy is continuing its over 20-year legacy of improving peoples’ lives by providing its accessible, best-in-class curriculum to students around the world.
• This expansion of our Networking Academy mission will redefine education with a new skills-to-jobs experience.

Through Cisco Networking Academy, we’re providing global and inclusive access for anyone, anywhere to participate in the evolving digital landscape. The program is available to those as young as 13 years old, those pursuing higher education and college, and those seeking a new career path. It’s delivered through public and private partnerships—so learners and educators keep up and keep moving forward.

New goals starting in FY25

Circumstances of the past year have enabled us to crystalize and actualize the next leg of our mission at Cisco Networking Academy. Millions of people around the world need career opportunities that can grow with them, now and in the future. In FY24:

Several of these students enrolled through the New York City Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities’ ATWORK project. In Brussels, Belgium, Odisee University partnered with Cisco Networking Academy to offer advanced education and exchange programs for students from over 100 nationalities. According to Kirsten Simons, Regional Manager at Cisco Corporate Affairs, Europe, there is a shortage of 800,000 to one million IT professionals and Network Academy’s high quality courses equip students to be more qualified for the job market. Courses include networking, programmable infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Cisco has recently announced that Cisco Networking Academy, a global IT skills-to-jobs program, is committed to advance digital literacy globally.

The program announcement is an ambitious next phase goal as Cisco Networking Academy celebrates 25 years. The commitment aims to empower 25 million people with digital skills over the next ten years in order to position them for in-demand jobs. To date, nearly 1.9 million Networking Academy students who completed CCNA courses found new jobs (FY05-FY19 Cisco Student Outcome Survey). Talent Bridge is a comprehensive program that includes an alumni network, the Dream Team, career advice, career preparation workshops, and a job matching engine. The matching engine, which was introduced two years ago, has a network of over 300 Cisco Channel Partner employers and 1,000 recruiters, and has connected more than 29,000 candidates to job opportunities around the world. With academies around the globe, from the United States to Nigeria, China to Brazil, Networking Academy is changing lives.

By providing people from all backgrounds and experiences an opportunity to learn the skills needed to thrive in today’s digital economy – Networking Academy is helping create a more inclusive, prosperous future for all people. At launch, Skills for All will offer a learning pathway featuring cybersecurity to prepare learners for jobs in this vitally important and job-rich industry. Soon, we will follow-up with courses about cloud infrastructure and automation with even more content to follow. Best of all, our curriculum is vendor agnostic so learners can get jobs with any company.
